Recently, the 36-year-old opened up about his upcoming plans for the season 2024.

On revealing his thoughts about several aspects, the conversation then headed to his upcoming goals and came to a point when the legend was faced with the hypothetical prospect of running for Rafael Nadal’s legendary French Open record.

As the interesting side of the interview showed up, Djokovic, highlighted his current victories as a base to be happy about. He mentioned, “I am very satisfied with everything I have achieved. I do not have to look at Rafa’s record in Paris. I have many that I’m proud of and that are part of history.” Adding a point of justification to the direct statement, he added, “If I were to retire right now, I could only be happy and proud of what I’ve done.”

“I think a lot of people would like it to be at Roland Garros. Why not? Although if you give me a choice I would say anywhere else,” Djokovic mentioned. The Serbian tennis star acknowledged the strong history of Nadal at Roland Garros, powering the title of ‘King of Clay’.

“Roland Garros wouldn’t be bad, but Nadal is the player who has won there the most times in the history of the tournament. I think anywhere would be amazing for us and for the tennis world,” Djokovic added, as he compared the idea of a final face-off to a ‘last dance.’

Looking up to the current situation, the Serb highlighted the uncertainty of facing Rafa as he mentioned, “I don’t know how many more times we’ll have the chance to play each other or if we’re going to play each other. I hope we do because that’s what everybody wants and I do too.” As Djokovic and Nadal continue to work on their specific sides every day, the possibility of a ‘last dance’ is what the fans are eagerly waiting for.
