Why Tsitsipas and Antetokounmpo called Nick Kyrgios ‘nuts’

Tsitsipas and Antetokounmpo referred to one of Kyrgios’ famous on-court outbursts as the two Greek sports stars had a nice laugh. During his match against Yoshihito Nishioka, at the Washington Open 2019, Kyrgios was fuming during a changeover after losing a game.

He then threw a water bottle in anger towards the on-court umpire’s chair. When the umpire confronted him about it, Kyrgios had simply said, “It slipped out of my hand.”

The recent banter was all in good spirits as Kyrgios himself shared a video of the Greek sportsmen trolling him and laughed at it.

Tsitsipas had also added a sarcastic sorry in that video. Kyrgios has a strained relationship with the Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, and Tsitsipas found a good opportunity to take a dig at him for it.

Kyrgios replied to that video and laughed it off, saying, “Giannis and Stefanos play too much.”

While Kyrgios has had an off-court war of words with many tennis players, he gets along quite well with Tsitsipas. Interestingly, Kyrgios has won both matches the two have played on the ATP Tour.
