Djokovic fans incensed with Rafael Nadal’s latest post

Fans were bewildered by Rafael Nadal’s latest post-match conference after suffering a recent loss at Turin. The top-seeded Nadal suffered his second straight loss after falling to tournament rookie Felix Auger-Aliassime, 6-3, 6-4.

Tennis TV recently uploaded a clip from his post-match press conference. In the clip, the Spanish legend said, “I am gonna die for it.” Fans quickly remembered that Nadal had once called out Novak Djokovic for the same words.

After clinching his 13th French Open title in 2020, Nadal addressed his arch-rival’s obsession with records. A fan reminisced about the Spaniard’s words, and tweeted, “Novak is so obsessed with records and trophies…” We won’t forget your words Claydall 🤣.”

A loyal fan of the Serbian tweeted,” I don’t think that is admirable to say you would die for it,..” The fan further added that Djokovic was willing to give up so much this year rather than put his body at risk. He also mentioned that Rafa, on the other hand, seems to be willing to play, no matter what.

Nadal, with his wife Maria Francisca Perello, recently welcomed his first child in October. Following several years of dating, the couple wed in 2019. Notably, Nadal is currently ranked no.2 in the ATP standings.

The Spaniard has so far won a career-high 22 Grand Slam titles. However, fans weren’t shy about mocking the player for his views.

The two legends have faced off against each another, a record-breaking 59 times on the tour, more than any two players on the ATP Tour. The Serb currently leads their head-to-head record, 30-29.

Djokovic and Nadal have communicated frequently about their rivalry at press conferences. The Spaniard has once discussed how their records on the Tour have continued to inspire them to achieve even greater success.
