‘Badboy’ Jimmy Connors Discloses How Tom Brady’s Retirement U-Turn Could Have Caused Further Rift in His Marriage With Gisele Bündchen – ‘I Wasn’t Like That’

Jimmy Connors is one of the names that has contributed greatly to the sport, along with his adversaries. The eight-time Grand Slam champion is constantly recognized for his outstanding achievements in the sport of tennis.

 

It was time for the legend to call it quits in 1996, even though he kept playing great tennis well into his 40s. The 70-year-old has said that his retirement was different from that of Hall of Famer Tom Brady. He also said that Brady’s decision to come out of retirement may have made his relationship with Gisele Bündchen tensed.

He said that Brady’s choice to come out of retirement may have made his relationship with Gisele Bündchen more difficult and said, “Sometimes it is very difficult, and you know, especially when you know later on in your mind, you know, early to mid-forties, what it takes to go out there and compete, and you know, and then your family, your kids are getting older, and you know you have been buried for whatever amount of years, and you know it’s there is wear and tear there is no doubt about it.”

Jimmy Connors further stated, “You know, I mean, Brady has retired and come back, retired and come back. You know, I wasn’t like that. When I retired, I was done where, you know, I said I had a good run. I wasn’t going to give it one more trip around the court. It was too paced and painful enough.” According to People, Brady and Bündchen’s separation is largely due to their differences over football. Although Brady has said nothing to confirm or deny the accusations, many factors have contributed to the spread of this speculation about his personal life.

Jimmy Connors’ stellar career record

Connors had a reputation for making vicious shots with his two-handed backhand. He won eight Grand Slam singles titles, an incredible feat in tennis history. Connors took home several titles in his career, including five US Open and two Wimbledon titles. Additionally, he won the Australian Open in 1974.

When it came to major tournaments, the French Open was always a challenge for Connors. On four separate occasions, he made it all the way to the semifinals, but he was never able to make it all the way to the top. On top of all that, Connors holds the record for most titles in the Open Era with 109 titles.
