Carlos Alcaraz has had a memorable time on the tennis court this season. Now, he has received the backing of Nick Kyrgios to come out on top in New York. At just 19, the Spanish sensation announced his name amongst the elite group of tennis stars. In the most remarkable season of his tennis career, Alcaraz has already won four titles, including a couple of ATP Masters 1000 titles. Owing to his consistent run across the tournaments this year, the Spaniard has climbed to the fourth spot on the ATP rankings charts.

Further, in his maiden appearance at the US Open last season, Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals before retiring midway during his last-eight match against Felix Auger-Aliassime. However, he will be looking to better last season’s result as he steps onto the courts in Flushing Meadows this year.

Nick Kyrgios predicts Carlos Alcaraz to win the US Open title

The Australian tennis star took to Instagram to share his thoughts about the probable US Open champion this year. Out of the players that included the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, and Carlos Alcaraz, along with himself and others, Kyrgios picked Alcaraz to win his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open this season.

However, Alcaraz has had a quiet past few months. At the National Bank Open in Montreal, he lost in the second round against Tommy Paul. Further, in the recently concluded Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati, his campaign ended in the quarterfinals with a defeat against Cameron Norrie.

Kyrgios enjoys his time with his girlfriend in New York

The Wimbledon finalist posted a series of stories on his official Instagram handle with his girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi. The two enjoyed a bike stroll in NYC while listening to Justin Bieber’s songs.

Earlier, Kyrgios revealed that he will miss the Laver Cup this year to spend time with his family. However, he will be in action next week, when the US Open gets underway.
