Shelton broke into the top 15 in October this year. But then gradually went two spots behind to end the year at world number 17 in men’s singles rankings. He caught the attention of the tennis run with his remarkable runs at the AO and US Open this year. Shelton came very close to creating a historic feat in the US Open and now he looks to repeat the heroics next year. But Nick Kyrgios thinks way ahead of just featuring in QFs, and SFs, the Australian rates this young American quite highly.
He has even praised his aggressive style of play and ‘rocket’ serves drawing a parallel with himself. ‘I had a dream last night that Shelton won a slam…. Is 2024 the year? Come to think of it, game is huge, serve is a rocket…. Reminds me of….‘ Nick Kyrgios tweeted. 2023 has been quite good for Ben Shelton but for Kyrgios this has been a year he would like to forget.
