Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios had a really good run at the Miami Open until the pre-quarters match against Jannik Sinner. Yesterday, tennis fans witnessed one of the most brutal outbursts from the Australian player with the chair umpire Carlos Bernardes.

Widely known to be an entertainer on a tennis court, Kyrgios lost the match to the Italian in straight sets. Right from the start, the Australian was clearly miffed with how the proceedings were and vented out his frustration towards the chair.

Even after the match, Kyrgios continued to express his views on social media. Recently, he got involved in a Twitter war with a few fans after some of them criticized the Aussie player.

Nick Kyrgios shuts down many fans on Twitter

Earlier, he posted on his Instagram story demanding to get new umpires. Then, he used Twitter to explain the whole situation.

“Don’t get it twisted. I got mad respect for @janniksinnner… he is one of my favorite players and he was TOO GOOD. I am aiming all of this at an umpire who clearly ISNT GOOD ENOUGH to be doing these matches. Nothing but a slap on the wrist for him right? What a joke,” Kyrgios wrote on Twitter.

“You could do the job of the umpire’ – what was said to my best friend that got me ‘unsportsmanlike code violation’ at 5-3 in the first set tie break. With 100 of thousands of dollars on the line that was the decision he made because the umpires ‘feelings got hurt. GET NEW PEOPLE,” the Aussie elaborated on the whole incident.

One of the responses to Kyrgios’ tweet was: “Getting a bit tired mate. You seem to love the carry on when its all your way (like Aust Open) but when the situation is against its everyone else’s fault.”

To a rather polite tweet, the Aussie star decided to give a harsh reply as he wrote, “Cool Geoff. No one gives a flying fuck about your opinion.”

Kyrgios’ crazy match against Sinner

It was 4-4 in the first set when Kyrgios lost his cool as chair umpire Carlos Bernardes’ walkie-talkie went off. The chair suddenly had to stop the match in the middle of a point.

Clearly, that incident irked the Aussie and things started to go downhill for Kyrgios thereafter. At the end of the match, he didn’t even shake hands with the umpire.

At Indian Wells, Kyrgios already received a $25,000 fine for his behavior during his contest against Nadal and will probably receive a significant fine after his latest outburst in Miami . Incidentally, Bernardes was in the chair for both these matches.

During the whole saga, one must admire Jannik Sinner’s composure as he silently dealt with his side of things and didn’t get distracted by what’s happening on the other side of the court.
