Federer bows out as one of the greatest ever to play the game. In his illustrious journey, he was ably supported by his wife, Mirka. Being a tennis player herself, she had good knowledge of the game and routine of a tennis player. She once explained how her tennis experience came in handy in her role as the wife of one of the best tennis players in the world.
Mirka’s tennis knowledge helped her take care of Roger Federer
Mirka herself was a fine tennis player. The couple met for the first time at the Sydney Olympics 2000. Unlike Federer, Mirka was unfortunate as she had to take early retirement from tennis due to her persistent foot injury issue. Further, she dedicated herself to her then-boyfriend Roger Federer.
Mirka once claimed that being a tennis player herself has helped her bond better with her husband. As an athlete herself, she understands perfectly what her husband needs. “That’s why we get along so perfectly. No other woman could deal with so much tennis. If he wants to sleep long I definitely won’t wake him by getting up early,” she said.
The couple married after dating for nine years in 2009. They are now parents to two sets of identical twins: Myla Rose Federer, Charlene Riva Federer, Leo Federer, and Lenny Federer.

It’s fascinating that even at such a young age, Federer’s kids were more concerned about his career. At this age, what any kid desires from his father is to spend time with them, but the way they were concerned about his career is truly laudable.
