But the World Number 14 tennis player has found his lucky charm in an 11-year-old fan during the US Open. Recently, after winning his third-round clash, he talked about discovering the passionate fan on his tennis journey.

For the first time in his career, Paul has advanced to the 4th round of his home Grand Slam tournament after defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. While his journey to overcome Fokina was far from easy, he recently revealed one of his biggest motivations present on the court, as he continues to seek his first US Open Quarterfinal.

Tommy Paul found his secret victory weapon 

Following his third-round victory, the 26-year-old American tennis player confirmed a heartwarming association with Eddy, an 11-year-old fan, during the on-court interview. Along with crediting the young fan for being a good supporter till now, he also credited him for his comeback victory that came against Roman Safiullin in the second round.

He said, “Man, I was down two sets to love the other day in my match, and he was the only one out there being like, ‘I’m here all night. I’m here all night.’ He really got me through that match. It was a lot of fun. I had to go over to him and say hi.” Subsequently, when asked about whether Eddy would be back for his 4th-round clash or not, the 14th-ranked tennis player gave a very straightforward answer. He said, “Oh absolutely. I’m not playing a match here without him. So, you’re coming back.”

Along with this clip from his on-court interview, the official Twitter account of the US Open also shared a video of the young fan cheering up everybody from the stands with his animated antics! In that video, he was sitting courtside and was quite hyped up as the American tennis player put on a great show on the tennis court. Not only that, Paul also shared a wish for his 11-year-old fan in the same interview. Let’s take a look at what he wants his young fans to achieve.

The 26-year-old tennis player has seen various bizarre twists in his relationships with his fans, but this one is definitely different. During the post-match press conference, Paul revealed how he wants Eddy to become famous and achieve popularity in the future. Along with that, he also stated that there might be a possibility that the 11-year-old has already found fame.

He mentioned how he arranged box seats for the young fan to watch the third-round match, but he ended up with even better seats courtside.
