As the Russian Tennis Federation raised the cup, tennis players like Novak Djokovic and Billie Jean King sent their hearty congratulations.

Medvedev and Rublev sealed the victories for Team Russia in their final encounter against Team Croatia. Notably, after 15 long years, Russia captured the Davis Cup trophy, their third trophy overall.

Team Russia overcame Team Croatia to hoist their third Davis Cup trophy. Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev led the charge for their country and successfully triumphed in their finals matches. Medvedev won against Marin Cilic, while Rublev surpassed Borna Gojo, both in straight sets.

Soon after, the World No. 2 shared his happiness with the fans by posting the picture with the prestigious Davis Cup. Notable players like Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune congratulated Team Russia for their emphatic win.

World No. 1, Novak Djokovic took a moment to extend his greetings. ” Well done Russian Team,” he commented. Holger Rune, who took a set away from Djokovic at US Open 2021 also congratulated Team Russia. Rune wrote, ” too good team Russia, congrats”.

In addition, King also mentioned Team Russia for winning this year’s Billie Jean King Cup. She added, ” RTF also won this year’s @BJKCup”. 

Daniil Medvedev achieved noteworthy milestones this year by already winning at ATP Cup, lifting his maiden Grand Slam title at US Open, and now the prestigious Davis Cup. Evidently, he must have gained a lot of confidence ahead of the 2022 season.
