Recently, Holger Rune’s mother appeared on The Craig Shapiro Tennis Podcast, where she openly talked about the time when the 13-year-old Rune wanted to get into tennis just after watching the 36-year-old Serbian tennis player. She recalled a story from the time when the 20-year-old visited the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy and did some fitness with Djokovic.

 

She stated, “When Holger came there (Mouratoglou Academy) 13 years old, and he’s doing fitness beside one of the top guys it’s Novak was there doing fitness, you know, a little kid just watching and, and he was so inspired, and he came and he said, I want to do it as fast I want to put in this effort I want to do so in that time. It’s absolutely amazing.”

However, do you know that the Danish tennis player defeated Djokovic last year on the tennis court? After defeating the world’s number one-ranked tennis player in the Paris Masters, Rune in detail opened up about how he feels about Djokovic.

When Rune openly talked about Djokovic 

A few months ago, when the 20-year-old appeared as a guest on the ATP Tennis radio podcast, he talked about defeating the Serbian player and revealed his thoughts on the same. He said, “It’s tough because he’s, I think so complete a player that there is no he has no weaknesses basically so at the end I just had to dig so deep and be brief because he’s not going to miss so I had to really you know play my best tennis.”

Not only did he compliment the 36-year-old tennis star as a complete tennis player, but she also mentioned how he has no weaknesses when it comes to him. At the same time, he also highlighted how he was quite nervous before facing Djokovic and was thinking a lot about facing him just before the match.
