World No.1 Novak Djokovic is going strong in the quest for winning his second Roland Garros crown. The Serb marched into the fourth round in Paris with a comprehensive victory over 24-year-old Daniel Galan. 

As the game began, Djokovic had no trouble settling in. In fact, he won the first set without dropping a single game! The 33-year-old asserted his dominance right from the start, which gave his opponent no room to slide back into the game. 

Djokovic held firm with a strong first serve, which helped him gain momentum as the match went on. Moreover, he dominated his opponent by breaking him seven times which indeed proved to be a defining factor in his victory. 

Besides his first serve success, Djokovic proved to be too good with his second serves as well. The Serb just seems unstoppable as he won 65% of his second serve points compared to his opponent’s meager 33%.

Earlier in the draw, Novak Djokovic notched up his 70th professional win at Roland Garros. This tagged him with Roger Federer as the only players to have racked up seventy wins at each major. This is an incredible achievement indeed!

Following his third-round victory, Djokovic was asked to give his immediate reaction, to which the Serb responded kindly. During the game, Djokovic stepped in and helped the Roland Garros officials clean the court. 

 “I tried, but I am not as good as the team at Roland Garros,” Djokovic reacted to the incident. “They are the best, thank you very much for everything you do here for our court. Yes, thank you very much everyone for staying with us. It was really good.” (Quotes obtained via google translate).
