World No.1 Novak Djokovic recently emerged as the champion of the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. The Serbian legend made an incredible comeback against Daniil Medvedev and defeated him in three sets in the finals. The final scoreline of the match was 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Interestingly, it is the sixth Rolex Paris Masters title for Novak Djokovic in his career. Moreoever, with this win over Medvedev, he also took revenge of his US Open 2021 finals defeat.

Novak Djokovic admits that his mission is to break all the records on ATP Tour

With his Rolex Paris Masters win, Djokovic achieved a huge milestone. He won his 37th Masters title on the ATP Tour and has now gone one ahead of his arch-rival, Rafael Nadal, in the tally.

In the post-match press conference, Djokovic accepted that history of the sport has always motivated him. He stated that whenever he plays on tour, he tries to break all the existing records.

“Throughout my career, I have always been honest enough to say that the history of our sport is too big a motivation. It is an objective, yes, to prove that I can break all the records with all the results that I can obtain on the tour professionally,” said Djokovic in the press conference.

In the same press conference, Djokovic highlighted that he loves breaking records and is looking forward to see his name on the top. Additionally, he also mentioned that his priority has always been to succeed at majors because they fetch the players with the highest number of ATP points.

Meanwhile, the Serbian legend had also made an IG post when he had surpassed Pete Sampras for 7th time as the year end world #1.

“So, yes, I love breaking records. I’m very motivated to carry on. My priority is the Grand Slams and Masters 1000 where you can gain the largest number of points. This is an added benefit of our sport,” added the World No.1 player.
