After winning his 24th Grand Slam title, Djokovic revealed how he managed his stress during the match. It was a special someone who helped him throughout the match to maintain his composure.

After winning his fourth US Open title, the Serbian tennis player celebrated his victory with his 6-year-old daughter Tara. It was an emotional moment for the 36-year-old tennis legend to win his 24th major title in front of his children. After the match, in an interview with Eurosport, the world’s top-ranked tennis player gave a touching response when asked about his emotional embrace with his daughter.

Subsequently, he also talked about how she was his little stress buster throughout the game. Djokovic said he was sitting with his daughter in the front row during the entire match.

He said, “She showed me the fist pump. She is only six years old, and in exactly the moments when I needed to have this playfulness and this joy and to relax a little bit in high stress – particularly in the second set – she looked at me and she gave me this energy.”

The 2023 French Open champion highlighted how his daughter was there to motivate him in the exact moments during the match.

Looking at the way Tara supported the 36-year-old tennis player, he also shared the reason he celebrated his win with her before anyone else. “That is why I went to her first—of course, because she is my daughter, but she also helped me the most in this match,” he added. He also made a very emotional statement as a perfect family man who is also a renowned athlete.

Djokovic dedicates his biggest career win to his family

In the same interview, he also talked about how his wife Jelena, his children, and his parents. He said they have been the biggest supporters throughout his tennis career, because of which he achieved this victory. While talking about his family, without any hiccups, he made a clear statement: “This is their trophy as well.”

During the post-match press conference, he said he wanted to achieve this great feat in front of his children. He actually wanted them to understand tennis and his father’s connection to the sport even better.
