Ahead of the Australian Open, some former players and tennis experts made their top-eight ranking predictions for both the men’s and women’s circuits. While many touted Novak Djokovic to defend his number-one stature in the new season, Feliciano López had a different take on the matter.

According to Sky Sports, the Spanish tennis veteran predicted: “ATP: 1) Sinner, 2) Djokovic, 3) Alcaraz, 4) Medvedev, 5) Rublev, 6) Zverev, 7) Rafael Nadal, 8) Tsitsipas.” López suggested that the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion will slip from his top spot as the young Italian tennis sensation Jannik Sinner will dethrone him.
