Novak Djokovic and his legacy in tennis in tennis is completely unmatchable. After landing 24 grand slams to his name along with major ATP titles, the Serbian player has gone ahead to become one of the best players the game has ever seen. However, despite this, there is one thing that the Serbian has failed to conquer. The ATP Awards, an annual award ceremony over the years was completely dominated by his peers, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
Seeing the unchallenged dominance, the Serbian’s father, 2 and a half years ago made a major statement when he went ahead and talked about his son being the major force in tennis and still failing to bag major success at the awards ceremony. Fast forward to today, it seems like there has been no consideration for the Serbian while talking about the annual honors.

Novak Djokovic’s father’s concerns unheeded as ATP Fair Play recognition eludes Serb yet again in 2023
“We record something about all of Novak’s nice manners during his entire career, how he says goodbye to the opponent, how he is towards the host, how he extends his hand and kisses the opponent when he loses,” Novak’s father said. “Which athlete does that?” “Rarely has Novak ever received an award for fair play, and you know how many such awards Federer has? About 15, ” he further added.

In the continuation of the story raised by Novak Djokovic’s father two and a half years ago, the ATP’s stance remains the same. Despite his father’s remarks, highlighting Djokovic’s sportsmanship and fair conduct, the acknowledgment from the ATP in the form of a fair play award continues to neglect the Serbian tennis icon.
Srdjan Djokovic talked about his son’s behavior on and off the court. He reflected Novak’s gestures of respect toward opponents, hosts, and the sport itself. Despite the consistent demonstration of sportsmanship, Djokovic’s conduct has not been reflected in ATP awards. However, compared to his peer rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, they are way ahead of him while having dominated the sport for an equal or maybe more time.
So, as the year draws to a close in 2023, Djokovic’s absence from the list of Fair Play Awards is yet another highlight captured this year. Even after bagging 3 slams this year, he has failed to claim major awards at the award ceremony this year.
That being said, one question still remains unanswered. How many awards have his peer rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won this year? On the other hand, if Novak Djokovic didn’t win it this year, who won it this year?
Who won the ATP Fair Play Award this year and how many awards does ‘Fedal’ have?
When it comes to the 2023 year, Carlos Alcaraz was declared as the winner of the ATP Fair Play Award. Just one year after reaching the number 1 spot in the rankings, the Spaniard claimed the award ahead of his rivals. On the other hand, his peer rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have dominated the award ceremony while bagging most of the awards.
