The unforeseen issue for Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic was thrust into an unexpected doping control test before the Serbia vs. Great Britain Davis Cup clash. This disrupted his pre-match routine and left the Serbian sensation visibly frustrated. Such interference prompted Djokovic to voice his discontent. Renowned French journalist Benoit Maylin weighed in on the controversy, casting a critical light on the situation.

In a straightforward manner, Maylin stated: “All that for this.” He further clarified that, according to the International Tennis Integrity Agency, Novak Djokovic had not refused the test. By highlighting a crucial point, Maylin emphasized that players have the choice to undergo the test either before or after the match. Djokovic was well within his rights as he wanted to opt for the latter. He then asked the obvious, saying: “So why bother them first? Kafkaesque logic!”
