Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal may have retired from tennis, but not from criticisms. While Nadal’s retirement is fresh, Federer bid farewell to the professional tour two years ago. Yet, their fans often spark fresh debate. A die-hard Novak Djokovic fan recently reignited this discussion, claiming that when it comes to genuine connection with people how these two legends don’t stand a chance against the Serbian icon.
Federer and Nadal, celebrated for their epic career, have a squeaky clean record. Hardly ever did they appear in the headline for negative reasons. However, a die-hard Djokovic supporter had a different opinion. He recently compared them unfavorably to the Serb, praising Djokovic as a true gentleman. In The Slice Tennis podcast, Pavvy G, a well-known tennis enthusiast of X, discussed the Big 3 with hosts Stephen Boughton and J.P. Harvey. Pavvy G arguing Djokovic’s humility is genuine and it extends to his entire family. “Anyone who knows Djokovic—and I know him personally—will tell you he’s one of the kindest, most generous people, as are his family,” he said. He contrasted his opinion with Federer and Nadal, whose entourages, according to Pavvy G, don’t match their saintly public image. When asked about Nadal’s reputed behavior, Pavvy G again argued saying it was more of a public front. While the Mallorcan legend is known for remembering fans’ names and being gracious on tour, the Djokovic supporter argued his kindness fades behind the scenes.
Federer, known for his gentlemanly demeanor, wasn’t always so calm and composed. Early in his career, the Swiss legend struggled with an attitude problem that led him to spend a week cleaning toilets after smashing a racquet and tearing a courtside curtain in Biel. In a candid Inside Tennis interview, Federer admitted his attitude’s turning point came after a breakdown during the 2001 Hamburg Masters’ first-round match against Franco Squillari. Meanwhile, Nadal has often been seen as the most humble and focused of all the ATP stars.

Novak Djokovic mentioned his special supporter as “very important” in his life
Djokovic shares a special bond with his followers especially Pavvy G, which makes it obvious why the latter hardly wants to listen to anything negative about the Serb. During one of his interviews, the Serb especially mentioned Pavvy G and said, “They wait for hours after the match for me to finish everything, when I drive by, they are there. They don’t even ask for a picture or a signature, but just to wish me good night. Thes are people who are very important in my life, who follow me. For example, Julie, Pavvy, I don’t know how many are there who have been following me for 15 years.” Djokovic’s statement highlighted his gratefulness to those fans who support him and cheer for him unconditionally.
