He said, “Yeah, obviously the GOAT, Serena Williams. She’s definitely the reason why I think I can do the things that I’m doing. Like when I’m younger, the reason I said to my dad that I can be a professional tennis player is seeing her and Venus battle each other.”

Tiafoe believes Serena is in the same category of ‘GOAT’ athletes as Mijchael Jordan, Tom Brady and Tiger Woods in their respective sports. He said, “She changed the game forever. As I said earlier, when you say her name, you say, Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, and Michael Jordan. She’s on a different stratosphere.”

While everyone was celebrating his historic victory over Nadal, the hoodie Tiafoe wore after the match caught everyone’s attention. The American tennis player was spotted wearing a customized hoodie. It had all of Serena Williams’ 39 Grand Slam titles and also the years she won them emblazoned on its back. While the word ‘GOAT’ (Greatest Of All Time) was written on the front.

In the fourth round of the U.S. Open on Monday, American Frances Tiafoe defeated second seed Rafa Nadal 6-4 4-6 6-4 6-3. It is probably the best game of his career. Nadal lost in a major before the quarter-final stage, for the first time this year as he tried to chase a record-extending 23rd Grand Slam triumph.
