After Novak Djokovic‘s brilliant victory at the Australian Open, a few days back, the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s coach shared his old prophecy that he made nearly a decade ago. It was back when the Swiss Maestro was ruling the tennis circuit. However, with this old prophecy, Goran Ivanisevic appears to be hinting something to Roger Federer.

The prophecy was made at that time when the big three were not at their peak. Back then, Rafael Nadal and the Serbian tennis legend were both trying hard to enhance their level to match the Swiss tennis legend.

Novak Djokovic’s coach shares his old prophecy

After Novak Djokovic won his 10th Australian Open title, during the post-match interview, Goran Ivanišević was asked about whether the Serb will go after his 23rd victory at the next Grand Slam tournament. To this, the former Croatian tennis player recalled an old prophecy regarding the Spaniard and the current world number one.

He said, “I said eight or nine years ago that Novak and Rafa will go over Roger. Back then they were, No. People were looking at me like strangely. But we have 22-22. Two unbelievable competitors, two unbelievable tennis players, what they did for the tennis.” Further, he also talked about how he’s looking forward to both of them taking part in the upcoming French Open tournament.

It is definitely amazing to see two tennis giants share the number of Grand Slam titles with each other. Additionally, last year, he also give a little warning to the upcoming young generation of tennis players regarding the big three Giants.

Ivanišević’s warning to young tennis players

Last year, when the 35-year-old tennis star claimed his 6th Nitto ATP title, Goran sent a clear warning to the Next Generation players while taking a jab at the Swiss Maestro and the ‘King of Clay’.

His coach talked about how the Serb is still hungry to win more tournaments and play unbelievable tennis in the near future. He also hinted that as soon as he’s done with specific tournaments, he quickly starts preparing for the next season or the next tournament.
