Italian Maestro talks about Roger Federer’s class

Davide Oldani is a chef who is renowned for his skills when it comes to Italian cuisine. He created ‘Cucina Pop’ and has been covered extensively as a master of Italian cooking. In 2017, Oldani had the chance to meet Federer as the two shot a commercial for the Italian foods brand Barilla. He was recently interviewed for a newspaper where he talked about the personality of the Swiss Maestro.

When asked what kind of person Federer is, Oldani said, “The personification of class. A man who puts beauty and art in every gesture he makes, in everything he does. For this reason he will remain unique, not only in the history of his sport.”

Despite his achievements in tennis, Oldani believes that the 20-time grand slam champion would be remembered for his personality. Many in the world have praised Federer’s class for many reasons. Be it his outfit, his gestures for his fans, or his charitable side, everyone seems to be taken by the Swiss star.

In the commercial where the two met, the Swiss Maestro and the chef complemented each other as they brought their own unique traits to the table. It also demonstrated the versatility of the Swiss Maestro.

Federer oozes class in Barilla commercial

The advertisement with Oldani begins by showing the garden of an Italian hotel, and Federer walks in with all eyes on him. He eventually walks into the kitchen, and Oldani throws a chef’s vest at him, asking him to change. The chef then proceeds to teach him how to cook, and the former number 1 slowly learns from him.

Eventually, he picks up speed and keeps up with the chef, bringing his unrivaled class to another field altogether. The two continue to cook, and the video ends with them plating Spaghetti. The commercial seems to have left a lasting mark in the mind of Oldani as he is left in awe of Federer’s class. 

The 20-time grand slam champion has internalized his marvelous qualities, which also help him in other areas. As Roger Federer continues to participate in other ventures, we are bound to see more of his charm in the future as well.
