Due to the growing environmental crisis, On Running, valued at $10 billion, is making significant steps towards a more sustainable future. Launched in 2010, the Swiss sneaker brand has now become a major player in the sportswear industry. Considering the same, the company has introduced programs to tackle their impact on the environmental crisis.

The brand’s latest program, the Cyclon program, marks an initiative to reduce fashion waste. Under this program, On Running offers two environmentally friendly products. The CloudNeo running shoe, constructed from renewable castor beans, is available exclusively through a subscription model. Subscribers pay a monthly fee, receive a new pair when needed, and return the worn-out shoes for recycling. This innovative approach not only extends the life of sneakers but also helps to keep them out of landfills.

Cyclon reflects On Running’s commitment to a waste-free future where every product is designed for circulation, with the purpose of recycling the materials. Thus, the initiative taken by the brand is nothing short of a landmark moment in the sportswear industry. With innovation making way into such fields, only time will tell if more renowned brands will follow suit. But, will On Running’s latest move amke any meaningful impact?

How will the recent On Running products solve the environmental problems?

According to the statistics, a huge amount of greenhouse gases are released from the fashion industry. Not only this, a lot of waterways are polluted just because of the waste products from the industry, while around 85% of the waste clothes end up in landfills. These are some of the problems that the industry has been dealing with for quite some time.

Now, with the introduction of the subscription program, the amount of waste emitted will be reduced to a great extent. Despite making the shoes environmentally friendly, they have not compromised on the quality of the shoes. The shoes will be lightweight and super responsive and will give the users a great experience.

Thus, the initiative by the Roger Federer-backed brand will hopefully motivate other world-renowned brands to take similar environmentally conscious steps. While the users can get a great experience using the products, they will also be able to contribute somewhat towards the betterment of the planet.
