Roger Federer embraces a new persona as he dives into the world of art

The Swiss tennis legend retired after a glorious career on the court. However, he knew that after retirement, he will not be lost as he has other skills to define himself apart from tennis. But no one knew that he would explore a completely unimaginable path. TODAY showcased the teaser of his documentary, ‘Portrait of a Champion’.

Former world no. 1 Federer worked as a model for an art installation in Venice. While collaborating with the artists, he stated, “The journey, in the beginning, was one of, this is different, this is fun. It’s about Ugo (Rondinone), it’s about figures more than it’s about Roger Federer. He’s hanging up in this church.”

Moreover, the new experience has paved the way for the tennis legend to get a new perspective on life. He detailed his experience and stated, “This new experience gave me the chance to push me out of my comfort zone and opened my eyes to learn the intricate processes of creating art.”

The documentary will showcase his journey from 2020 onwards, covering his retirement, too. What could easily be said one of the most emotional moments happened during his retirement at the Laver Cup.
