According to David Massey, who is leading the organization of the Masters 1000 event, Nadal was the first player to be registered for the Monte Carlo Masters, as reported by Eurosport. Massey also revealed that Nadal is keen to take part in the tournament.

Massey said, “Rafa was the first [player] to be registered… He really wants to play at the Monte Carlo Masters and is giving himself every chance to take part in the tournament he’s so fond of.”
