Chourraut is Spain’s oldest competitor at the Tokyo games this year. Along with the silver medal in Kayak, Spain also managed to win another silver medal in Taekwondo, and a bronze medal in men’s cycling category.
To concentrate on the hard-court season, Nadal withdrew from the Olympics event. He even had to skip Wimbledon after a grueling clay-court season, where Nadal had to push his body beyond the limit to play as many tournaments as possible.
Now that Nadal’s name is in the official entry list at ATP Citi Open that starts next week, expectations are high on the Spaniard’s performances on US hard-courts.

The former world number one is all set to play against the likes of Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov, Jannik Sinner, etc., at the Washington Open. Also, it will be Nadal’s debut at the tournament.
All things considered, it’s a smart choice for Rafael Nadal to give his body enough rest in order to bounce back stronger. Just like his stint during the European clay-court season, the Spaniard is expected to play at least a couple of events before heading into New York for the US Open.
