Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal is having a brilliant 2022 season. Starting with a brilliant come-from-behind win in the Australian Open final. The 36-year-old also reclaimed the French Open title for the 14th time in his career. With rising age and pestering foot issue, Nadal has shown extraordinary grit to perform at the highest level.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner was eying the calendar Grand Slam this year and made it to the Semifinal of Wimbledon Championships 2022. However, the Spaniard suffered an abdominal tear in his quarterfinal clash against Taylor Fritz. Though he played with pain and defeated Fritz in a five-set match; unfortunately, he could not play any further in the tournament.

After opting out of the rest of the tournament, the 36-year-old is enjoying a much-needed break away from the game. The 36-year-old was recently seen enjoying a vacation.

Rafael Nadal enjoys his vacation at Formentera Islands

Rafael Nadal is on a much-needed recovery break after the injury. The 36-year-old will be out of action to prepare for the US Open. Meanwhile, the Spaniard was seen enjoying a vacation in the Formentera Islands of Spain.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner was enjoying with his friends on a yacht. He also went on a jet ski ride.

Later, he also posted a picture of himself watching the sunset on a beautiful seashore.

After missing out on the Wimbledon title, the 36-year-old will be next targeting the US Open. Interestingly, there are high chances of Novak Djokovic missing out due to his stand against vaccination.

A look at Nadal’s run in Wimbledon Championship 2022

Riding on his brilliant form, Nadal was one of the top contenders going into the Wimbledon Championships 2022. Starting his campaign against Francisco Cerundolo Nadal won the match in four sets. Further, he clashed with Ricardas Berankis, yet again winning in four sets. In the third round, against Lorenzo Sonego, Nadal cruised to an easy three-set win. The Spaniard booked his quarterfinal slot with another straight-set win against Botic Van de Zandschulp.

It was the quarterfinal against Taylor Fritz that tested Nadal. Struggling with his injury, the 22-time Grand Slam champion gave a brilliant performance to win the match in five sets.
