Rafael Nadal Pays Tribute to His Favorite Event French Open by Opening a Restaurant in Manacor

Rafael Nadal is the only men’s singles player to have won 21 Grand Slam titles. He achieved this feat by defeating Russian World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in five gruelling sets. While at a point of time in the third set, it looked like the match was out of his hands; he showed why he is tennis’s greatest fighter and stepped his game up. He then proceeded to win the last three sets, making his place in history yet again.

Before his extremely successful run at the Australian Open 2022, Rafa was in his hometown of Manacor, which also houses his academy, the Rafa Nadal Academy. He inaugurated a new extension to his academy- the Roland Garros Restaurant.

His academy, which had been Nadal’s dream project, provides various kinds of programs for various age groups and intensities. It also ensures a holistic training experience developed on the one which enabled Nadal himself to be one of the greatest players ever!

Rafael Nadal opens French Open inspired restaurant in his academy

Rafael Nadal has famously won 13 French Open titles, a record, for winning the same event. Now guests at his academy will be able to enjoy a slice of the Parisian tournament. As per the academy’s announcement, the decor and the furnishings of the eatery were based on the restaurant at Roland Garros.

The restaurant also has pictures of some of the all-time greats, who have had tremendous success at the French Open. Along with Nadal, the walls also have images of Chris Evert, a 7-time champion, Steffi Graf, as well as Björn Borg, both of whom won it 6 times.

Chefs and nutritionists from Movistar have curated the menu at the restaurant. The restaurant can seat 60 people and join the US Open and Australian Open themed spaces at the academy. This is an endeavour so that people can get an experience of being at Nadal’s favourite tournament to play at.
