Rafael Nadal’s name is all around the news as he made a comeback, starting his journey in Brisbane. While everyone in the tennis world experienced a sense of confusion about his ability to cope up with competition again, it seems like the Spaniard is regaining his dominance. His return and performance is well acknowledged by the 20-year-old Danish player, who has also done brilliantly in the Brisbane International so far.

Holger Rune has also appeared to be in great form as he found his way up to the semi-finals. While the young Dan was exposed to the expectations of being the first seed multiple times, he pushed the claim away, considering Rafa’s presence on the tour.

Holger Rune does not really think about his rank when her enters the tennis court

In a post-match conversation with the media, Danish tennis icon Holger Rune expressed his vote of respect towards Rafael Nadal. Despite his impressive quarterfinal win at the Brisbane International against James Duckworth, the young player made sure to hold the ground, because Rafa is back in the game.

“When you step on court, you don’t really think about it. It’s a nice feeling… Obviously, it’s tough to call me the 1st seed when Rafa is here,” Rune mentioned, highlighting the respect he holds for the Spanish tennis legend’s comeback after a year-long hiatus.

As the young Dane gave this statement, it provided fans with a hint of Rune’s down-to-earth attitude along with the recognition of the challenges that now exist with Nadal’s participation in the game. As the tournament proceeds to its upcoming rounds, it still remains to be seen if Rafa keeps up the expected dominance.

Boris Becker appreciates Rafa over his first win

Holger Rune isn’t the only one from his team who admires the restored potential of Rafael Nadal. After the Spaniard gained a massive win over Dominic Thiem in his first match after the comeback, Rune’s coach Boris Becker also came forward to appreciate the star.

“@RafaelNadal is absolutely amazing! Having not played in more than 350 days after hip surgery, beating @domithiem 7:5 6:1 in the first round in Brisbane,” Becker tweeted. As the tennis community appreciates Rafa’s entry back in the game, it seems like he has settled in well enough again.
