Rafael Nadal’s Speculated Argentina Tour All Set to Make Juan Martin Del Potro Come Out of Retirement for One Final Time

Former US Open champion and one of the best Argentine tennis players of all time, Juan Martin Del Potro, retired from professional tennis recently. The 33-year-old played his last game back in February in the Argentina Open. It was an emotional moment for both the crowd and Del Potro.

Del Potro was a promising player with wins against the likes of Nadal and Roger Federer to his name. However, he was unlucky with injuries throughout his career.

At the time of his retirement, the former world number 3 got high praise from tennis legend Rafael Nadal. The 21-time Grand Slam champion called him one of the best tennis players and said that he deserved a more complete career. However, there’s good news for Del Potro fans as he is all set to face Rafael Nadal one more time in an exhibition game.

Nadal to play Del Potro in Argentina

According to journalist Danny Miche, world number 5 Rafael Nadal will travel to Argentina to play an exhibition game against Del Potro this November. This will be a great opportunity for Del Potro fans to watch him battle one of the best players of all time in Nadal one last time.

In his illustrious career, the 33-year-old Argentine has won 22 ATP titles, but the most remarkable tournament of his life was the 2009 US Open. On his way to the trophy, he defeated Nadal in the semi-finals and recorded a victory against Swiss legend Roger Federer in the final.

The Argentine was one of few players who kept challenging Nadal throughout his career. The two have played some really competitive matches against each other. Looking at their head-to-head records, Nadal has won 11 out of 17 matches, while Del Potro came out victorious in 6.

Even though the Argentine has won fewer matches in the H2H against the Spaniard, he always forced Nadal to raise his game to withstand his mighty forehands.
