David Nalbandian
David Nalbandian was one of the finest Argentine tennis players. The 40-year-old had a top rank of world number 3 in March 2006. Also, he was the only player from his country to reach at least the semi-finals of all four Grand Slams. He retired in 2011 with 11 ATP singles titles to his name. Recently, in an interview, the 40-year-old recalled a hilarious incident from his playing days involving Roger Federer.

It’s an incident from Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo. The Argentine lost a bet to Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer on PlayStation. Because of this, he ended up in underwear in front of Swiss maestro Roger Federer. Here’s how he told it happened.

“We had organized a small tournament and the loser would have had to go down to the hotel lobby in his underwear and take the elevator. Unfortunately, I was the loser and was not allowed to negotiate. So I headed for the elevator and the funniest thing is that when the doors opened I found myself face to face with Roger Federer and Mirka. It was a really embarrassing situation!” He said.

Federer to return in the Laver cup 2022
The 20-time Grand Slam champion has revealed his plans for a comeback. Notably, the 40-year-old is all set to make a comeback in Laver Cup later this year. Later, he will be officially back on the tour with the Swiss indoor event in Basel. It’s great news for Federer fans, however, this means that Federer will be skipping the US Open as well. The Swiss maestro will miss out on all the four Grand Slams of the year.
Earlier at the end-of-year 2020, Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic were tied with 20 Grand Slams each. However, Nadal has moved to 22 Slam titles now and Djokovic has 21.
