Why did Dominic Thiem withdraw from Wimbledon?
Going back in time, Thiem suffered a major wrist injury in the 2021 ATP Mallorca Open. Being of a serious nature, the injury forced the former World No. 3 to stay out of the tour. Recovering from the injury, Thiem made a comeback at the Marbella Challenger in March this year, followed by an ATP comeback in April.
Thinking of being recovered, Thiem played the entire clay-court season. However, little did he know that the worst was yet to come. While the Wimbledon withdrawal may be a shock to many, it wouldn’t remain one if going back in time.
