Carlos Alcaraz recently received a great compliment from former Croatian tennis player, Ivan Ljubicic. Referring to Alcaraz’s skills similar to Roger Federer’s, this world’s former number-three tennis star lifted the Spanish tennis prodigy, Carlos Alcaraz up to the true elites of the sport. Now Alcaraz showed extraordinary tennis skills this year with an unbelievable victory in the Wimbledon tournament. So much so that it has vastly impressed former ATP star Ljubicic.

Ljubicic’s compliment surely meant something great for Alcaraz following the fact that the former also coached Roger Federer. Previously he called Alcaraz a “sick combination” of the tennis big three, Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal. Now this legendary coach dropped another great compliment for the Spaniard.

In a recent podcast, Ivan Ljubicic revealed how much he likes Alcaraz’s unpredicted moves on the court. Ljubicic addressed Alcaraz’s way of bringing refreshing moves, which never makes his game boring after a point. He said- “For me to see super interesting match, I need contrast of styles. I need one player who attacks then the other one who defends. When you see point after point playing played in the exact same way, I think it brings down the how to say the attractiveness of the of the match.”

He further added: “That’s why Alcaraz is something refreshing, and it’s fantastic to watch, because you just never know what’s going to happen.” However, Ljubicic added some more bits to his comment when he spoke about Alcaraz’s skills equal to Federer’s. He also added Kyrgios and Bublik’s name revealing these players’ interesting and unpredicted strokes which retains the spectator’s attention.

Ljubicic said- “Nick Kyrgios, Alexander bublik, I mean, Roger, is how himself of course, you just don’t know what’s going to happen. And this is what makes these players I feel extremely interesting.”

However, this is not the first time Ljubicic praised Carlos Alcaraz. This Spaniard’s victory at the Wimbledon this year moved the Croatian coach. He said about Alcaraz- “He is positive and he is something we haven’t seen so far – some sort of a sick combination of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal,”. 

This compliment even attracted Roger Federer who believed such comment from his former coach is nothing less than a great motivation for players like Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz truly outshined many tennis stars this season. Despite his loss at the ATP tournament, his performance received much praise. Now that Federer’s coach complimented him, fans have great expectations from Alcaraz in 2024.
