The possibility of a film about his rivalry with Rafael Nadal was once alluded to by Roger Federer. The 41-year-old also named Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon as the actors most capable of capturing his essence.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are two legends who have elevated men’s tennis to unprecedented heights. In terms of Grand Slam victories, they are two of the most accomplished athletes in the history of the sport. Also, their rivalry has become legendary over the years.
Is there any film based on some Famous Tennis Rivalry?
Borg vs. McEnroe, a film about another well-known tennis rivalry between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, premiered at a film festival in Zurich. At that premiere, Federer was asked if he thought a film about his legendary battles with Spaniard Rafael Nadal would be made.
Federer also stated that the chances of that happening were vague. But he did have a short list of actors who could play him in such a film. Federer said, “I doubt there ever will be a movie about Rafa and me.”

“But if there is, I’d like Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio or a James Bond like guy to play me.”
When asked who he would like to play as an actor, Federer replied: “Leonardo DiCaprio. He recently won an Oscar and makes great films.”

Federer vs Nadal: One of the Greatest Tennis Rivalries of All Time
Federer compared his rivalry with Nadal to that of McEnroe and Borg, who had two victories each in four Grand Slam finals but had very different personalities. Borg, a Swede, remained a cool and collected player. On the other hand, McEnroe was a player who was brash and loud both on and off the court. Nevertheless, they’ve had a good friendship off the field.
Their rivalry is reminiscent of McEnroe and Borg. Federer, an eight-time Wimbledon champion, enjoys hearing about it.

Although Roger Federer doesn’t think a film about his rivalry with Rafael Nadal will be produced any time soon, he hasn’t stopped talking about who he thinks would make a good portrayal of the 20-time Grand Slam champion. The two have engaged in a great rivalry while competing against one another, with an incredible 42 Grand Slams between them.
