Ever since Roger Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022, he has been focusing on other aspects of life. Along with his other ventures, he has been aiming to fulfill the wishes of many others around the world. Most recently, he met a South African Rugby coach, who is one of his biggest fans and accepted his adorable request.

Along with the rugby coach, he met one of the players of the team, too. Both stars were fans of each other, and their bond shone through after the two were engaged in banter after parting ways.

Roger Federer fulfills the wish of rugby coach

Rassie Erasmus, South African rugby union coach and former player, is one of the biggest fans of the Swiss Maestro. He was caught by the Roger Federer Effect, the same as much of the world. When the chance came to meet the Swiss Maestro, Erasmus could not let it go. He asked Federer to make a video where he greets his mom. 

hello from Paris; I am so happy for Rassie. It’s amazing,” Federer said in a video shared by Jared Wright on ‘X’. South Africa recently won the 2023 Rugby World Cup, which is why he expressed his happiness for Erasmus. As the team celebrated, the 20-time grand slam champion met them in the locker room. The video shared by Wright also shows the loud celebration taking place in the background.

The Federer family is a big fan of Rugby, and they couldn’t miss the chance to attend the tournament. Along with Erasmus, Roger and his parents also met the star of the South Africa team.

Siya Kolisi, a friend and fan of the Swiss Maestro, learned about the opening of ‘The Federer Express’ in Basel and made his way over to the city. When the former number 1 learned about it, he invited him over for dinner. The two broke bread along with Federer’s parents, Robert and Lynette. Roger shared a picture of the four on his Instagram page after they parted ways.

Kolisi couldn’t help but be cheeky in the comment section of the post. He left a comment thanking them for the meal and asking Roger to inform the ‘Original Federer’, Robert, that he did not miss his train.

The Swiss family is a big fan of rugby, especially the South African rugby team. The current meet-ups are likely one of the few that we will see in the coming future.
