The current world No.1 Novak Djokovic has set several records in tennis that will take a mammoth effort and several years, if not decades, to match or overcome. He has created history more than once to prove that he is very deserving of being called the GOAT of the sport. Year after year, Djokovic wins Grand Slams for fun. So, the question arises, what is the ultimate goal for Novak Djokovic and where does it end for him?

And it is not just us asking this question, a lot of people feel the same. That is why, in one of his recent interviews, he finally spoke about why he continues to strive to be the best.

Djokovic was asked in his interview at the Paris Masters pre-tournament presser about when he would finally hang his boots. What is the endgame for him after being the best for so many years and winning the most tournaments of any ATP player who has played this sport?

To this, he said, “I really like competing. I still feel young in my own body. It’s serving me well. I won three out of four slams. Some of them think that it’s best to leave tennis when you’re at the top. Some of them think when you figure out you can’t win the biggest tournaments anymore and that you’re losing to the young guys, then you leave it. I’m more in the second group. As long as I’m, you know, main contender for the Grand Slams and still, you know, win the biggest tournaments in sport, I will not leave.

His answer clearly shows that Novak Djokovic is not going to leave unless a young player becomes ready to handle the pressure of being No.1. Unless young players like Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, or any other player start defeating him in matches and bag the No.1 sport, he will not retire. His fans surely are going to love his answer, as they obviously don’t want him to retire anytime soon.

His fans are surely in for a treat in the upcoming Paris Masters, as Novak Djokovic will be playing with partner on the court. He is all set to play in the doubles against Stan Wawrinka and Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic gears up to prove himself once again at the Paris Masters doubles

The Serbian tennis star is going to be back in action at the 2023 Paris Masters. He will be playing with Miomir Kecmanović and will take on Jannik Sinner and Stan Wawrinka. The last time Djokovic was seen playing in a major tournament, the US Open, he gave everyone a treat by securing a record-breaking 24th major title win.

This will be the last tournament that Djokovic will be playing this year before the ATP Finals begin. Whoever wins this match will play Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden in the second round. We can’t wait for the No.1 to be on the court again.
