Serena Williams’ childhood coach on the flaw of Carlos Alcaraz

Rick Macci recently interviewed with Essentially Sports, where he talked about various aspects of the current tennis scenario. He could not talk about modern tennis without talking about the current form of Alcaraz. The Wimbledon champ experienced a bit of a slump after the tournament and found himself losing matches. Macci saw why he was failing and said that he was a little injured and playing on the back foot.

He further said, “That changes the landscape, and yeah listen it’s, it’s a fine line, and remember, he’s 20 years old. He’s the youngest of all of them. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be better. I’m just saying that he’s a cut above because he checks more boxes. There’s no real flaws.

Macci also explained, “The only flaw is he has more items on the menu to order because he can do so many different things, where other people are just like amazing vanilla with a little sprinkle in there, you know. Alcaraz can do so many things and once that complicated, it becomes trickier.”
