Recently, the legendary coach shared a video, where he talked about Carlos Alcaraz’s humility more than anything. The way he conducted himself after beating Nadal at the Madrid Open earlier in the month describes his true character, according to Macci. 

“He has humility. He is just so appreciative and respectful of what has come at him. And the quote of the year after he beat Rafa (Nadal). Instead of being all over the rainbow and going out of control, he says, ‘well it shows one thing, all the hard work I put in I’m on the right track.’ I mean, what a quote. This guy, not only in my opinion, okay, barring injury, can be the greatest player of all time.”

Notably, Alcaraz won back-to-back tournaments in Barcelona and Madrid. In the Madrid Open, he faced Rafael Nadal in the quarter-final, which was a revenge match for him after last year’s loss. This time, she showed his worth to Nadal and others, as he beat both him and Djokovic in consecutive matches. Later, in the final, he beat Alexander Zverev to win his fourth title of the season. 

Alcaraz is ready for the French Open 

Alcaraz’s turnaround has been truly incredible this year. Last year, he was 120th in the world and at this moment he is world no.6. After winning the Madrid Open, he took a break due to an ankle injury. Right now, he is nursing his injury and is getting ready for the French Open, which will start on the 22nd of May. 

The Spaniard is hoping to get back to his full fitness before the Roland Garros as he’s clearly one of the favorites to win the whole tournament. Earlier, he talked about his goal this year, which was to win a Grand Slam and it could very well happen at Roland Garros.
