Rafael Nadal complimented his sixteen-year-old rival after defeating him at Madrid Open 2024

Nadal felt happy as he could satisfy his fans after a long break due to injury and physical inability. However, his comment about Blanch showed his maturity and humbleness. During the post-match press conference, Rafa was caught appreciating the rising player, remarking, “He is a very young player and has a great journey ahead of him. He has very powerful strokes.”

Moreover, Nadal also shared his expertise, mentioning, “I believe that what he lacks is consistency. I have done well and I’m happy, it gives me the opportunity to play one more day in Madrid, which means a lot to me.” The Spanish legend seemed more confident than before as he continued, “This week will surely be very difficult. I’m going to have the opportunity to play, which is almost a gift, so I’m happy to get on the court again. I’m going to try to be competitive as much as I can.”
