Former world no.13 player from Ukraine, Alexandr Dolgopolov retired from tennis last year. Since then, he has been enjoying life off the court. However, his enjoyment was cut short by the recent clash between two respected European countries. 

Meanwhile, the world has shaken up with the current situation in Europe. Also, the whole tennis world voiced their opinion on the current scenario. Many stars, including Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Naomi Osaka, Felix Auger Aliassime, and others, shared their thoughts on the current scenario. Recently, Alexandr Dolgopolov shared a video on social media, which was truly disturbing to see.

Alexandr Dolgopolov shares a disturbing video

Earlier, many youth and older people gathered around the streets of many cities, protesting against the current conflict happening between the two European countries. However, police officers didn’t show any mercy to those people gathered on the streets. In that video that Dolgopolov shared, we can see terrible things happening to those protesters. 

The former Ukrainian tennis player, took to Twitter and shared the video and wrote in the caption, “People of russia don’t want this war. Share all, please… meetings in all big russian city’s against war!”

Many tennis stars react

Players like Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev showed their full support for peace around the world. After winning his semi-final match against Hubert Hurkacz at the Dubai Open, Andrey Rublev wrote an important message on the camera to show his stance on the whole tense situation.

Soon to be World no.1, Daniil Medvedev also voiced his opinion on the current matter. He said, By being a tennis player, I want to promote peace all over the world. We play in so many different countries; I’ve been in so many countries as a junior and as a pro. It’s just not easy to hear all this news. … I’m all for peace.”

American tennis player Amanda Anisimova also showed her disappointment on Twitter, as she wrote, “no words for what is happening.”

Despite the current situation, many tennis stars are focusing on tennis, as they are playing in various tournaments around the World. However, all of them have the same opinion regarding the heartbreaking scenario.
