American tennis prodigy lauds his girlfriend for her performances

Shelton acknowledged that his girlfriend’s success has put pressure on him to perform at a higher level. Despite the challenges, the tennis ace said that he and Hall are supportive of each other and that their relationship has helped him become a better player. Hall, a heptathlete, won the bronze medal at the track and field world championships in Eugene, Oregon in July 2022.

Shelton had followed her performances on his phone while playing in a Challenger competition that same week in Indianapolis. He underlines that he is not the better athletic of the two, even though he has dominated her in pickleball.

Shelton’s coach, Goldfine also chimed in, saying, “It’s great. Because they challenge each other, and she understands what it takes to be at an elite level.”

Shelton recorded his first victory in the main draw of a major tournament after a tough five-set victory against China’s, Zhang Zhizhen.
