Nick Kyrgios has been absent from the sport this year entirely. After an injury that took him out of running for the Australian Open in January, Kyrgios has not managed to recover and play again. Although he announced his participation in both the French Open and Wimbledon, he pulled out from both since he was unable to recover. Fortunately, even though the situation looks grim, he recently shared an update with his fans, which throws a positive light on his tennis career.
While being in the recovery process, he chose to take a dig at critics, which he shared on his Instagram story.

Nick Kyrgios shuts down retirement rumors
Eager to see him back in action, his fans hoped that they will see him play this year. Unfortunately, their hopes haven’t been answered yet. In fact, his absence has only fueled retirement rumors over time. However, Kyrgios has provided his fans and followers with some expectations.
He shared a picture of himself in the gym on his Instagram story. Along with the picture, he wrote the message, “To the millions of fans out there, I guess we have to be patient. Trust me, I still have some fire left in the tank, my body just needs time to recover and get back. I’m still as motivated as ever, in the gym, treatment, recovery. Everything off court is doing great 🙏 I am eyeing to come back and have a season like my last again. 👑“.

The Aussie player is striving hard to keep hopes alive for his fans and for himself, shutting down any rumors of retirement. Although he has been out of the sport for a long time, he has kept up his usual habit of digging at critics.

Despite his absence, Kyrgios hasn’t stopped being a controversial figure in the sport. The Aussie bad boy has continued to talk smack to critics regardless of his status. Recently, he shared a picture of himself on his Instagram story where he stated that the target on his back is not something that has faded, given how big he got in the sport, despite his falling ranks.
The Aussie bad boy is not someone who relents when it comes to fighting for what he believes is right. Given his tenacity, we may just see him play for some more time before he hangs up the racket.
