Slovakian Tennis Player Andrej Martin Suspended by ITIA After Banned Substance Found in Test Report

Andrej Martin, after executing a subpar run in Wimbledon, found himself tangled in an argument with the authorities. The Slovakian tennis professional is in a deeply damaging situation as he is facing charges of doping.

The tennis professional touched his peak in terms of singles in the year 2020. He entered the top 100 of ATP by claiming the ranking of World no.93. However, with the matter on the surface, his career will probably take a hit.

Andrej Martin in a suffocating situation

Martin, who was holding the ranking of ATP 191, tested positive for the banned drug at a second-tier event in his home country. In June 2022, traces of SARM S-22 were detected in his blood.

SARM S-22 is a synthetic substance that can copy the effect of testosterone. Therefore, the usage of the same comes under foul play and the player responsible is liable for strict punishment. For now, ITIA has suspended the 32-year-old from playing or attending any event till the case is prosecuted.

Along with the loss of career time, he will face persistent denouncing if proven guilty. If not, then he will have to bear criticism till proven innocent and that can be mentally tiring.

However, things turned sour for her in the year 2016, when meldonium was detected in her blood. The former World no.1, who overcame several injuries, found herself helpless in the situation as she received a 15 months ban because of the intake of the anti-ischemic drug.
