The couple who have been together for almost a decade actually met each other on the tennis courts. Broomfield isn’t just a social media star—she has a history with tennis as well. Back in 2019, the Canadian won the NCAA Division I doubles championship. Her experience on the court has played a big role in her relationship with Tiafoe.

In an interview with Essence, she explained how their shared love for tennis strengthens their bond. “We can talk about tennis. I mean, I played tennis myself. It’s nice to be able to chat about it and strategy. I just feel like we just understand it and what it takes for someone to go and be able to compete at the highest level.”

The influencer is often seen in his box, cheering for him. She was his biggest supporter when he reached the semi-finals of the U.S. Open in 2024, equaling his biggest achievement of 2022. Even though he lost to compatriot Taylor Fritz, Broomfield expressed her pride on social media. Her Instagram post read, “What a tournament, proud of you. Forever your biggest fan.”

The American tennis player is set to begin his campaign as the seventh seed, facing Alexandre Muller in the first round on Monday, February 24. So far, 2025 hasn’t been too kind to him. The World No. 18 has played three tournaments this season and holds a 3-3 win-loss record. He has yet to win more than one match at an event this year.

Significantly, Tiafoe’s struggles began at the Brisbane International, where he lost in the second round to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, 4-6, 6-7(4). Things didn’t improve at the Australian Open—he fell in the second round to Fabian Marozsan in a five-set battle, 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-3, 4-6, 1-6. His most recent tournament, the Dallas Open, saw a similar outcome after a second-round exit against Yoshihito Nishioka, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6. However, he is still powering through and is ready to battle at the Mexican Open.

Meanwhile, Muller’s confidence is high as he enters the tournament fresh off a final appearance at the Rio Open. The Frenchman has momentum on his side, and Tiafoe must bring his best game if he wants to change his luck in Acapulco.
