Alcaraz is not the only player who believes that Nick Kyrgios can come out triumphant against Djokovic. After the 2022 Wimbledon final, Djokovic overtook Roger Federer’s tally. But Frances Tiafoe believed that Kyrgios was the one who played better tennis in the stadium. For Tiafoe, Kyrgios lost only because of Djokovic’s experience over the Aussie’s.?

Carlos Alcaraz puts Nick Kyrgios above him

As the young Spaniard prepares for the grass major, he will be ready to face several world-class players. If he reaches the finals of the Wimbledon Championships, Alcaraz would likely face Djokovic for a chance at revenge. However, Carlitos is not sure of his chances at glory.

In an interview with Eurosport, Alcaraz stated that since Nick Kyrgios has played a Wimbledon final, he plays great on grass. He said, “[Nick] Kyrgios has already played a final in Wimbledon and he’s very good on grass as well.”?

While he didn’t outrightly state that he couldn’t beat Djokovic, he felt that other surfaces would fare him better. “I am not saying that I am not capable of beating Djokovic, but I think I have less chances than on other surfaces.”

Alcaraz believed that Kyrgios had a higher chance of defeating Djokovic than any other player on tour. “I think that Kyrgios has more chance to defeat Djokovic than any other player.”

Fans of Alcaraz would be worried at the statement made by the Spaniard. As he puts Kyrgios as his probable winner over the ATP number 1, he would not go down without a fight if he faced him. While he undermines himself, he still enters the tournament as a fan favorite.
