The match had a controversial moment very early as in the first game of the first set, Agut had an argument with the umpire. After a brilliant 24-shot rally, the umpire gave Agut a time violation warning.

However, this did not go well with the Spaniard, and he started arguing with her. While complaining, he also asked to see the supervisor. Although the chair umpire disagreed, the supervisor still came out and had a chat with the 34-year-old.
