As long as one doesn’t know how to properly manage the available ‘resources’, it doesn’t matter how much of it they have. Danish tennis star, Holger Rune had included six times Grand Slam champion, Boris Becker into his team in October last year. Then a few months later, he added the former coach of Roger Federer to his team. As Rune parted ways with the coach, one of the fans advised him to ‘figure out what he wants’.

40 days after including Swiss tennis coach Severin Luthi in his team, Holger Rune decided to end their partnership after he failed to commit himself more seriously and follow the Dane’s schedule. Tennis fans have now started to slam Rune, questioning his decision to part ways with this legendary tennis coach.

Severin Luthi had coached Federer for almost 15 years (2007-2022). He has seen Federer doing wonders on the court from a very close distance. And here’s what Rune had said while including him in the team- “Roger Federer was my childhood idol. It’s great to have something from him in my box.”

Rune also said that he’ll work ‘alongside Boris.‘ The idea was to keep Luthi on the road for around 20 weeks and let Becker and him distribute the responsibilities for the tournament accordingly. But seeing his exit just after two months is what has now made the fans slam this Danish youngster.

A fan wrote, “He needs to figure out who he wants and who is the best fit for him to succeed and maximize his potential. He also needs to get some stability; all this noise and hiring and firing takes too much energy and focus away from tennis.

Another fan put up a question mark and implied that Rune knew that he could not fit himself into his schedule.

Some of them hilariously trolled him and wrote, “When your mommy finally lets you dress yourself this week but she hates the choice you make..

Others went a little further and added, that if anyone wants to ruin their coaching careers, then they must join either Holger Rune or Casper Ruud‘s team.

Lousy kid, such spoiled brat!” – said another fan.

Boris Becker was a part of the success of Novak Djokovic, while Luthi played a crucial role in Roger Federer’s career. The idea was to get that golden touch of champions into Rune’s game. But sadly for the Dane, it hasn’t worked out well as of now.

Tennis has been my passion since my childhood. My sheer love and enthusiasm for the racket sport has been a major influence in me wanting to build a career in sports journalism. Additionally, being a die-hard Real Madrid fan makes me more connected to my tennis idol-Rafael Nadal, who himself is a huge Los Blancos fan and a contender to become its next President.
