Former Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka has surely left his mark in the history of our sport. In the glorious years from 2014 to 2016, Stan managed to win three slams at three different events. To begin with, he first won the Australian Open in 2014. Later in 2015, he won the French Open and in the following year, he won the US Open 2016.

However, ever since then, the Swiss national has not lived up entirely to his potential. In 2017, Stan suffered an injury to his knee. That forced him to call off the rest of the season that year.

Once he got back on the court, Wawrinka struggled both mentally and physically. The results obtained at tournaments in 2018 and 2019 had not been impressive either.

He seems intent to let go of the results over the past couple of years. As he’s aware, there’s not much time left before he hangs his boots. Due to this, the Swiss would surely want to give everything that’s there in the tank from the next time he steps on the court.

Often seen in the past, once Wawrinka feels a sense of comfort on the court, he becomes an explosive player. In the majors that he won, Stan had been considered a real threat when he progressed into the second week of a Grand Slam.
