This year is turning out to be the worse in the professional career of Rafael Nadal. After sustaining an injury in the Australian Open, Nadal has been absent from the action. Many wondered whether the Spaniard would make a comeback during the clay season but they were left disappointed. However, it did not end there; Rafa announced his withdrawal from the French Open as well. People worldwide showed their support, including those close to him. Nadal’s friends and family are happy that Rafa is receiving love from around the globe.
The press conference on 19th May came as a punch to the gut for tennis fans. Ever since he won the French Open in 2005, Rafa has never missed the tournament once, but he will sadly be absent from the championship this year.

Nadal’s coach’s wife’s wish makes his sister happy
As Nadal’s withdrawal from the French Open took precedence in every news outlet – fans, family, and friends poured their hearts out for the ‘King of Clay’. Carlos Moya, former world number 1, and Nadal’s coach, expressed his sadness regarding Rafa’s absence from his stomping ground, Stade Roland Garros. Along with him, Moya’s wife, Carolina Cerezuela, also shared a post on her Instagram account with a heartfelt message for Rafa.

She wrote, “He says that he is leaving for a few months, that he is resting… He should not know that whoever is a legend never leaves even if he wants to. That tennis bears his name and that whatever he does will be incomparable and inimitable, because the stars never stop shining. #The warrior’s rest“.
Her message was shared and loved by many. Nadal’s sister, Maria Isabel Nadal, was grateful that her brother was so loved and left a comment showing her gratitude. She wrote, “😊❤️❤️“.
People outside of tennis voiced their love for Rafa as well.

F1 star consoles Rafael Nadal
Many were saddened by Nadal’s withdrawal news but wanted to make sure that the Spaniard doesn’t lose his motivation. Even the Spanish F1 racer Carlos Sainz joined millions around the world and shared a positive message for Rafa. The Ferrari driver hoped Nadal wouldn’t lose his motivation as this could serve to be a crushing blow.
