The 25-year-old Greek tennis star, Stefanos Tsitsipas, has navigated through the highs and lows throughout the 2023 season. He started the season by winning 10 matches in a row and guided his nation to the SF of the United Cup in Sydney before showcasing his heroics in Melbourne Park. But even after a stellar start, he failed to hold the momentum for the rest of the season and won just one title this year. Tsitsipas had to put an abrupt end to his season after sustaining a back injury at the ATP Finals later this year. But his poor performances and off-the-court activities always kept him in the limelight.

The number 6, now looks to ‘reboot’ himself before the start of the next season. But he admits that rising further up the table and winning big titles is tougher than ever before. Recently, he gave an interview to The National at Etihad Arena in UAE where he shed light on the quality of the ATP Tour being at its ‘peak’ in recent days. However, this started a full-fledged outrage against Tsitsipas.

The former number 3 hasn’t been in the good books of the fans recently. Yet again he faced the heat of the fans when he made a remark on the recent quality of the ATP Tour.

Here’s what he said, “We have a great quality of tennis players, ones that can push each other to the limits. I think the moment has come where tennis is at its peak in a way. I’m lucky to be in that era because it’s an era that is constantly developing. And it kind of reaches new heights. My goal there is to improve my own qualities and my own tennis that comes with the whole package in order to compete against these players. Because these are the fittest, strongest, most enduring tennis players that our sport has seen in a long time.”
