Worrying signs for Stefanos Tsitsipas ahead of the Wimbledon! His personal trainer, Christos Fiotakis, has recently ended his partnership with the Greek tennis star in quite an abrupt manner. Reason? Interestingly, the experienced gymnast has lashed out at Tsitsipas for his attitude and even accused him of not having the mindset to win a Grand Slam title anymore.
He thanked the former number 3 for giving him the opportunity to work with him and wished him good luck for his future. However, there were a few things that he thinks could’ve gone better during his tenure. “I hope that at some point he will understand that what I am telling him is correct and that he will climb to the first step of the podium,” wrote Fiotakis. He wished to be with him at the Paris Olympics and bring home the gold medal from there. But some circumstances have now forced him to take this bold call. Fiotakis said, “I am not satisfied with Stefanos’ work ethic.“
I knew something went wrong bc Christos posted in his insta something along the lines "you don't need to hear someone talk, his actions say all about him" – paraphrasing.

Fiotakis and Tsitsipas have known each other for several years, but it was just seven months ago that he took up the role of personal trainer on a full-time basis. Now, his departure amid a ‘heavy atmosphere‘ has sparked a new curiosity among the tennis fans. According to the reports published by SDNA , a Greek media house, Christos Fiotakis said he wants to “close the circle” now because the results and goals he had set did not come to fruition.
Tsitsipas was knocked out of the 2024 French Open by the eventual winner, Carlos Alcaraz, in the QF. Regardless, Fiotakis felt quite proud to see him back at his feet and competing at a high level after his injury. He added, “Beyond that, there are some things that are out of my control. The team atmosphere doesn’t match my energy and, unfortunately, we have other priorities.“
He further said, “Right now I don’t think his ultimate focus is on playing tennis and getting to the top of the rankings or winning Grand Slams. So that’s why I too can’t travel for seven months straight, with only 25 days at home when the goals are not high and I’m traveling just to travel.” Christos Fiotakis is a guy who has worked with many other professional athletes, all now he want is to distribute his “energy to different people” in his daily life. Tsitsipas’ attitude had been put on a question mark several times before.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and his angry outbursts to his teammates
Stefanos Tsitsipas and father-cum-coach Apostolos Tsitsipas have a very strange relationship. Apostolos has trained him right from a very young age, but he was once briefly fired from his team after a spat and found his way back a few months later. Even during the French Open this year, Tsitsipas was seen yelling at his father, telling him to “Shut Up” during his second-round match. He looked quite annoyed with Apostolos’ chattering habit.

However, this isn’t the first time that his parents have been in the firing line of their son. He also yelled at his mother, Julia Apostoli, on a previous occasion. In the 2023 Italian Open, Stefanos asked his mother to leave the stadium during his clash with Daniil Medvedev. In the 2022 ATP Finals, Stefanos was caught in yet another controversial incident when he hit a ball towards his parents in frustration during a round-robin clash.

Intensities are always high in tennis matches; his parents and teammates want him to win the match as much as he does. These angry outbursts are never a good example of a healthy “team atmosphere.” Is it the main reason for Christos Fiotakis’ departure?
